About Us
Our university was established with the Law No. 3837 dated 03.07.1992 published in the Official Gazette dated 11.07.1992 and numbered 21281. The proposal of the Rectorate of our University on the activation of the Institute of Fine Arts, which was opened with the establishment law of our University dated 03.07.1992 and numbered 3837, in the 2005-2006 academic year; the proposal of the Rectorate of our University on the transfer of the branches of Painting, Graphics, Theater, Traditional Turkish Handicrafts and Archaeoceramics within the Institute of Social Sciences to the Institute of Fine Arts, was accepted by the decision of the Senate of our University dated 14.04.2005 and numbered 199/3, and the proposal of the Rectorate of Süleyman Demirel University dated 22/04/2005 and B.30 .2.SDÜ.0.70.72.244/463-4746 dated 22/04/2005 and submitted to the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education. The decision was examined at the General Assembly of Higher Education meeting dated 03.06.2005 and the proposal was deemed appropriate in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880 and Article 6 of Law No. 2809. The Graduate School of Fine Arts offers master's degrees in Archaeoceramics, Traditional Turkish Arts, Graphic Design, Painting, Performing Arts, Art and Design and Music, and proficiency in art in Painting. The graduate programs in the Institute of Fine Arts aim to be a pioneer in the field with its interdisciplinary education model and in the academic structuring of Fine Arts throughout the country. In today's societies where technology is constantly developing/changing, it is necessary to train qualified people with knowledge that is constantly updated for the future on the academic platform with the need to redefine the position of art as a discipline. In this context, graduate education is provided with seven programs affiliated to Süleyman Demirel University Institute of Fine Arts, which tends to keep its line high by introducing different science, art and culture policies in line with the developments of the modern world. The Institute offers an optional solution to students who are not satisfied with the undergraduate education they have received and who have the understanding of taking their knowledge further. The programs in the Institute of Fine Arts aim to contribute to the art policy of our country with a qualified academic structuring and research.
